Welcome to Cynical Law Blog! My name is DuDu Sunny (aka. ConfuciusKiller). “Cynical Law” is my personal law blog.
I love to explore the significance of the rule of law. It deeply impact on our daily lives in our complex ”post-modern world”.
Through sharing my legal writings, my mission is to advocate for the values of human dignity, respect and forgotten freedoms. These rights are unalienable and fundamental to us as human beings.
A remark from one of my law professors left a lasting impression on me: ‘Lawyers are no different from plumbers’. After studying Law for some time, I’ve come to interpret his words as follows: the legal profession is a service, not a prestige.
Furthermore, being an unapologetic freedom-loving person, I’d love to share what Ronald Reagan addressed about freedom:
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. The only way they can inherit the freedom we have known is if we fight for it, protect it, defend it, and then hand it to them with the well fought lessons of how they in their lifetime must do the same. And if you and I don’t do this, then you and I may well spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it once was like in America when men were free. ” – Ronald Reagan, 1961.

His concern is not just relevant to America. Being a naturalized Australian citizen, freedom is my only comfort zone. In a word, I believe, Australia’s sky wouldn’t be so beautiful if Australia doesn’t uphold the value of freedom and protect the legacy of democracy.
